Sky customers in the UK are in for a treat as HBO Max, the latest streaming service, has officially launched. Select Sky Ultimate TV package subscribers can now enjoy HBO Max for free, saving them the usual £4.99 monthly fee. This offer includes access to popular titles like Game of Thrones, Friends, Dune, Succession, and Young Sheldon.
Sky confirmed the news, stating that customers with Sky Ultimate TV on Sky Glass or Sky Stream, or Sky Signature/Sky Entertainment on Sky Q, will receive HBO Max Basic with Ads as part of their subscription. The service offers a vast library of HBO dramas, including favorites like Succession and The Wire, as well as new Max Originals such as The Pitt and a range of Warner Bros. films.
To start streaming HBO Max, eligible customers can simply launch the HBO Max app from the homepage and follow the on-screen instructions to activate it. The service offers on-demand viewing of all available content.
For those not on the Sky Ultimate TV plan, they can switch to it starting from £22 per month (rising to £24 from April 1st). This package includes over 130 Sky channels, Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, and the upcoming Hayu service.
Sophia Ahmad, Sky’s Chief Consumer Officer, expressed excitement about the integration of Sky, Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, and Hayu into a single subscription, providing a comprehensive entertainment experience. NOW Entertainment customers will also have access to HBO Max without any additional cost, integrated into the NOW app.
For non-Sky subscribers, HBO Max can be directly signed up for on its website, with Standard with Ads plans starting at £5.99.
