“BT Mobile Makes Comeback, Challenges Telecom Rivals”

UK households using BT Broadband will soon have access to BT Mobile services once again. BT Mobile is re-entering the UK market after pausing new customer sign-ups in 2023. This move signifies a shift in focus for BT, as the company had previously favored its EE network brand.

BT’s CEO, Allison Kirkby, who assumed the role in 2024, aims to revitalize the BT brand within UK households. The company plans to offer bundled packages combining broadband, landline, and mobile SIM services under a single monthly bill. This reintroduction will position BT in direct competition with major telecom providers like Vodafone and O2, as well as budget-friendly networks such as Tesco Mobile and SMARTY.

Paolo Pescatore, an industry analyst, views this relaunch as a strategic effort to stay relevant in a competitive telecom market focused on connectivity, resilience, scale, and trust. The company also announced its partnership as the official telecoms sponsor for the UEFA Euro 2028 tournament, to further enhance its brand visibility.

Pescatore emphasizes the importance of execution in achieving success in this endeavor. The UEFA Euro 2028 partnership is seen as a significant opportunity for BT to showcase its capabilities and demonstrate its commitment to providing quality services.
