“Ronnie O’Sullivan Aims for Dual World Titles Triumph”

Ronnie O’Sullivan is set to create history by aiming to secure two world titles at the Crucible within a month. He has entered the World Seniors Snooker Championship, showcasing his competitiveness against both current tour players and those on the senior circuit. The 50-year-old will vie for a record eighth crown in his 34th consecutive World Championship appearance this spring.

O’Sullivan will debut in the senior tournament in Yorkshire, starting on May 6 and spanning five days. The World Seniors Snooker Tour has confirmed his participation, highlighting him as a highly successful and captivating figure in the sport.

Joining O’Sullivan at the event are fellow world champions Mark Williams, Stuart Bingham, and Ken Doherty, along with other notable players like Jimmy White and Matthew Stevens. The Chairman of the tour expressed excitement over O’Sullivan’s involvement, expecting a surge in ticket sales due to the Rocket’s presence.

Following the 2025 World Championship, the World Snooker Tour relaxed rules allowing professional players aged 45 or older and ranked in the top 64 to compete in the veterans circuit. O’Sullivan, with seven world titles to his name, last triumphed in 2022, drawing level with Stephen Hendry’s record. Hendry has voiced support for O’Sullivan’s quest for an eighth title, emphasizing the significance of winning at a young age.

In a recent World Snooker Tour podcast, Hendry expressed pride in his own records but stated a preference for O’Sullivan to secure an eighth victory. Acknowledging the talent required to achieve such feats at a young age, Hendry remains supportive of O’Sullivan’s pursuit.
