British Tourist Joshua Kershaw Found Dead in Bangkok Hotel

A British tourist named Joshua Kershaw collapsed at a bar in Bangkok before being taken to a hospital and later found dead in his hotel room, as per reports. The 21-year-old was seen on CCTV in Bangkok’s nightlife district just hours before his demise on January 13. Initially, his family, based in Yorkshire, thought he was in Pattaya, a location he intended to visit. Joshua, a resident of Grimsby, Lincolnshire, checked into Maxim’s Inn hotel on January 12, with plans to travel to Pattaya. His body was discovered by hotel staff the next day, prompting police involvement.

Authorities in Bangkok are awaiting autopsy results to determine the cause of Joshua’s death. On the evening of January 12, he was spotted in security footage at a nearby bar, seated with a woman and consuming pizza and chicken. Allegedly, Joshua fell from his chair and passed out, leading to an ambulance taking him to the hospital. Witnesses suggested a possible choking incident while eating. Despite receiving treatment at the hospital, Joshua discharged himself and returned to the city’s nightlife area before heading back to his hotel room carrying beverages.

Tragically, Joshua was later found deceased in his hotel room. His family was informed of his passing nine days after the incident. The Foreign Office confirmed providing support to the family and liaising with local authorities. Joshua’s mother, Jenny from Wakefield, announced the sad news on Facebook. The family is seeking assistance to repatriate Joshua’s remains, with a GoFundMe campaign raising over £12,000.
