Helen Flanagan is facing escalating tensions in her ongoing dispute with ex-partner Scott Sinclair, especially after reports emerged alleging that Sinclair is pressuring her to vacate their shared residence. Flanagan, known for her role on ITV’s Coronation Street, currently resides in a luxurious six-bedroom house with their three children, Matilda, Delilah, and Charlie.
Sources indicate that Scott is pushing for Helen to move to a smaller property, but the actress, aged 35, is resisting the idea. Their relationship has deteriorated to the point where they are no longer communicating directly, relying instead on intermediaries.
A psychotherapy expert has expressed concerns about the situation, warning that if the communication breakdown persists, it could become the new norm for the estranged couple. The expert highlighted that the conflict over the house may signify deeper underlying issues beyond mere property disputes, such as stability, financial considerations, and emotional attachments.
Although Helen and Scott decided to split after being together for 13 years, Helen’s residence in Belmont, near Bolton, is registered under Scott’s name. The property was initially listed for £1.5 million but was later reduced to £995,000. Despite Scott’s desire for downsizing, Helen is determined to stay in the area for the sake of her children’s education and proximity to her parents.
Scott reportedly offered to purchase a four-bedroom house for Helen in her name, with the condition of ceasing maintenance payments for the current property. However, disagreements persist over the property’s value, leading to further tensions between the former couple.
During the Christmas period, Helen publicly criticized Scott for missing their son’s nativity play to attend the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Marygrace, the psychotherapist, suggested that Helen’s outburst could stem from feeling disregarded and unheard in the situation.
The expert emphasized the importance of seeking therapy to facilitate better communication and decision-making regarding their children. Failure to address these issues could exacerbate the conflict, potentially spilling into the media and affecting both parties negatively in the long run.
The Mirror has reached out to representatives of both Scott and Helen for comments on the matter.
