Coronation Street icon Beverley Callard received an outpouring of support from fans following her update on her current role in the soap opera. The 68-year-old actress gained fame in the ’80s portraying Liz McDonald on the popular ITV show, alongside her on-screen son Steve (played by Simon Gregson) in 1989.
During her three-decade tenure on the show, Beverley was a central figure in numerous significant storylines, from romantic entanglements to intense conflicts. In 2019, she saddened soap enthusiasts with the news of her departure, bidding farewell to her iconic character a year later.
Since leaving Coronation Street, Beverley has remained active in the entertainment industry. In 2020, she participated in the reality show “I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!” and embarked on a travel show venture with fellow show contestant Jordan North.
Recently, Beverley made a comeback to soap operas by joining the cast of Irish drama Fair City, portraying the character Lily, who is revealed as Gwen’s long-lost mother. While in Ireland filming for the series, Beverley updated her followers on Instagram, expressing that she was feeling under the weather.
In a video message, Beverley shared her Dublin experience, mentioning her intense filming schedule and the absence of her beloved Yorkshire Tea, jokingly attributing her cold to the lack of the tea brand on set. Fans flooded the comments section with well wishes for her recovery, expressing concern and sending love.
