“Fog Alert: Met Office Issues Warning for 11 Regions”

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for fog in 11 regions. People should anticipate disruptions to bus, train, and flight services due to the fog. The warning, covering parts of Yorkshire and the North East, remains in effect until 9 am.

The advisory indicates that dense patches of fog will cause visibility to drop below 100m in some areas. However, the fog is expected to dissipate as the morning progresses. Motorists are advised to ensure their fog lights are operational before driving in these conditions.

The Met Office advises taking precautions to avoid delays, such as checking road conditions, allowing extra travel time, and adjusting plans if needed. Additionally, travelers should stay updated on potential disruptions to bus, train, flight, and ferry services and follow guidance from their respective transport providers.

In North East England and Yorkshire & Humber, more fog is anticipated later today and tomorrow morning. The forecast predicts clearing fog, sunny intervals, and showers, with the heaviest showers expected in the west and southwest. Temperatures are expected to be near average for mid-January.

Tonight, the weather is expected to be mostly cloudy with showers, predominantly in the west. Fog patches may develop in central and eastern areas, with a risk of frost in the north. Tomorrow, fog patches will gradually lift, leading to a day of sunny spells and showers, with showers diminishing in the afternoon. Temperatures will remain close to normal levels.
