“Emma Raducanu Ends WTA Season at No. 29”

Emma Raducanu has achieved one of her seasonal objectives as the WTA Tour season concludes. The British tennis prodigy ended her season prematurely in early October due to health issues.

Raducanu’s journey in the season was filled with ups and downs. She secured notable wins at Wimbledon and the US Open, reclaiming her status as Britain’s top player. However, she faced fitness challenges towards the latter part of the season, culminating in a medical timeout during the Ningbo Open where she lost in her opening match.

Confronting these hurdles, Raducanu made the decision to end her season early while confirming her commitment to coach Francisco Roig for the upcoming 2026 season. This choice jeopardized her goal of being seeded for the Australian Open.

The 22-year-old withdrew from her final two tournaments of the year while holding the 29th rank, casting doubt on her aspiration to be in the top 32. Without accumulating more ranking points, she awaited confirmation on achieving this milestone.

With the season now concluded, Raducanu finished the year as the world No. 29. Barring a challenging start to the 2026 events, she is likely to secure a seed in Melbourne.

In early October, Raducanu set her sights on being seeded at the Australian Open, emphasizing the importance of a high ranking for a better draw and playing against top competitors early on while highlighting the element of luck in the sport.

The young British tennis star also underscored the significance of being a role model and setting a positive example on and off the court to inspire younger generations. Raducanu acknowledged the impact of her actions on aspiring players and aimed to showcase a commendable attitude in all circumstances.

Raducanu currently stands as the sole Brit within the top 32 of the WTA rankings, with Aryna Sabalenka leading the rankings this year. Sky has announced reduced prices for its Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle ahead of the 2025/26 season, offering over 1,400 live matches across various leagues.

Ahead of the next season, Sky is set to broadcast a minimum of 215 live Premier League matches, marking an increase from the previous season.
