“Russian Nationalist Warns Europe of US Threats”

A warning has been issued to Europe by a Russian nationalist politician amidst efforts to respond to recent threats made by the US President. Aleksey Zhuravlev, aged 63, expressed his concerns about leaders like Donald Trump, whom he accused of behaving as if he is all-powerful, suggesting that such leaders have historically led the world towards catastrophe. Zhuravlev mentioned that if a conflict were to arise with the US, Europe might seek Russia’s protection.

The situation escalated after Trump reiterated the US’s purported need for Greenland for national security reasons, prompting a response from EU chief Ursula von der Leyen, who emphasized that Greenland belongs to its people and stated her communication with Denmark regarding the matter.

Zhuravlev took to Telegram to emphasize his views on Trump’s actions, highlighting the potential consequences of his assertive behavior on the global stage. As the deputy chairman of the Russian parliament’s defense committee, Zhuravlev previously suggested providing nuclear-capable Russian missiles to Venezuela and Cuba in response to US activities in Venezuela. Recently, he advocated for a strong response, including the use of torpedoes, to US actions in capturing a Russian-flagged oil tanker in the Atlantic.

In light of these events, Zhuravlev underscored the need for a resolute and immediate response, including the possibility of employing nuclear weapons as outlined in Russia’s military doctrine.
