Dr. Longo emphasizes the importance of a high-vitamin diet, reducing saturated fats, and incorporating olive oil into one’s daily intake to maintain youthful health.

In a previous blog post, Dr. Longo recommended confining all meals within a 12-hour window, starting after 8 am and ending before 8 pm, with a gap of three to four hours before bedtime. Additionally, he advises following a diet rich in vitamins and minerals, supplementing with a multivitamin buffer every three days.

Studies, such as one conducted by Harvard scientists, have shown that eating earlier in the day may positively impact cardiovascular health. Research indicates that individuals who consume late-night meals face a 55% higher cardiovascular risk compared to those who do not. Skipping breakfast also correlates with a 27% increased risk of cardiovascular disease.

Late-night eating habits are associated with detrimental health effects, including acid reflux and heartburn, which can disrupt sleep patterns. Opting for sleep-friendly foods like bananas, yogurt, oats, almonds, walnuts, and turkey, which contain compounds like tryptophan, magnesium, melatonin, and apigenin, can promote relaxation and improve sleep quality.
