After a renewed search effort, hopes for a significant breakthrough in the ongoing quest for the missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 have been disappointed. The Boeing 777 vanished in 2014 with 239 people on board while en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing. Ocean Infinity, in partnership with the Malaysian government, is conducting the search operation. Recent observations of a search vessel, Armada 86 05, sparked speculation among observers, suggesting it may have been equipped with a Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) for underwater exploration.
However, Science journalist Jeff Wise debunked these claims, clarifying that the vessel halted its search due to adverse weather conditions, not to deploy ROVs as rumored. He emphasized that the ship lacks ROVs but instead has refrigeration units for storing food. This turn of events has reignited interest in the mystery of MH370, one of the most perplexing aviation mysteries to date.
As speculation and theories circulate online due to limited official communication, Ocean Infinity is gearing up for further search attempts. The company plans to provide updates through the Malaysian government, maintaining the confidentiality of the operation. In a related development, American marine robotics, renowned for locating Sir Ernest Shackleton’s lost ship, will join the search efforts after a previous unsuccessful attempt in 2018.
