Savvy shopper Jordon Cox has shared a clever trick to uncover a “hidden code” that signals the approaching expiration of a deal at Tesco.
Jordon, known as the Coupon King on ITV This Morning, regularly imparts money-saving advice on social media.
In a recent video, he unveiled a technique to decipher a six-digit number on products under Clubcard Price promotion, indicating the deal’s expiration date.
He explained in the video description: “Unravel this Tesco code! On Clubcard Price items, locate a six-digit number that starts with 25.
“By reading the numbers in reverse (in pairs), you can determine the deal’s expiry date. Last two digits: Day. Middle two: Month. First two: Year.
“For regularly purchased items, this helps you track the expiration date and plan your shopping. Saving on full-priced items can trim your shopping expenses!”
This advice coincides with Tesco’s reminder for customers to utilize £16.5 million worth of expiring Clubcard vouchers before November 30.
Tesco awards Clubcard points for various purchases, including groceries, fuel, Tesco Mobile, and using Tesco credit cards or Clubcard Pay+ debit cards.
To redeem a Clubcard voucher, a minimum of 150 points is required, equating to a £1.50 value at Tesco. Presently, more than 24 million UK households are Clubcard holders at Tesco.
