Some Android users are facing a concerning issue where their phone batteries are draining rapidly even when not in use, following a recent software update. The problem seems to be affecting Google’s Pixel phone range, including models like Pixel 10 Pro XL, Pixel 9 Pro XL, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 8 Pro, and Pixel 7A. Reports suggest that the battery drain is linked to continuous CPU wakeups, causing the phone to run in the background unnecessarily.
Users have expressed frustration over the issue, with complaints about having to charge their phones multiple times a day and experiencing slow charging speeds. While some Pixel owners like Warren have not encountered the battery drain problem, others like Phil and Fz have highlighted significant issues with their devices since mid-March and after the March update, respectively.
