Emmerdale actress Zoe Henry has shared insights into her husband Jeff Hordley’s significant health condition. Zoe, known for her role as Rhona Goskirk on the popular ITV soap since 2001, officially joined the show’s cast in 2010.
Recently, Zoe has been at the center of major storylines, including a recent encounter with Graham Foster in an episode that aired on Tuesday, where the character, believed to have died in 2020, made a surprising appearance.
Beyond her on-screen endeavors, Zoe is married to fellow Emmerdale actor Jeff Hordley, who portrays Cain Dingle. Their marriage, which began in 2003, has been marked by challenges, notably Jeff’s battle with Crohn’s disease, a chronic inflammatory bowel condition.
Jeff’s struggles with Crohn’s disease began when he was 18, experiencing symptoms like stomach cramps and diarrhea for six years before being diagnosed. In a candid discussion on Loose Women, Zoe disclosed how the diagnosis has profoundly impacted their lives.
Despite the hardships, Zoe mentioned that their shared passion for gardening, particularly tending to their allotment, has been a source of solace for Jeff in managing his condition. The couple finds joy in growing their food, although their children are not as enthusiastic about vegetables.
Jeff first recognized his condition due to persistent stomach pain, leading to significant weight loss and fatigue, affecting his studies as a drama student in Manchester. Following a referral by his GP, he was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease at Manchester Royal Infirmary.
