A British traveler was apprehended for engaging in a lewd act with a woman on a beach in Thailand. Loucaides, a 23-year-old tourist from London, reportedly exchanged money with Nuchjaree, a 61-year-old individual, for a sexual act on the sand in Pattaya, known as ‘adult entertainment hub’. Witnesses alerted the authorities upon witnessing the couple’s behavior in the early hours of Friday, January 23.
Following the incident, both the British tourist and the woman were taken into custody and charged with public indecency, which could result in a fine of up to 5,000 baht (£119). During questioning, the man claimed ignorance of the illegality of their actions, citing his ADHD condition, while the woman identified herself as a student from Singapore studying in Thailand.
According to Police Major Chanan Kesornbua, the offenders were handed over to the investigating officer for further legal procedures, with the tourist being released after paying the fine. A taxi driver, Somsak Pativat, who witnessed the incident, initially mistook the situation for a medical emergency due to the unusual positioning of the individuals on the beach.
Pattaya, often referred to as ‘adult entertainment Disneyland’, has gained popularity among tourists for its bars, massage parlors, and availability of inexpensive sexual services. However, this reputation has led to concerns regarding the impact on Thailand’s image as a family-friendly vacation spot with pristine beaches and cultural heritage.
In a separate incident, a British yoga instructor, Maria Shchetinina, was arrested in Thailand for allegedly conducting tantric sex classes behind a restaurant. Authorities apprehended her during a raid while she was teaching under the name Maria Sky Love, despite having a work permit for a different occupation. She was charged with unauthorized work activities following her arrest.
