David Malukas set the pace with the quickest lap during the practice session of the Ontario Honda Dealers Indy held at Markham. Malukas clocked a time of 1:14.194 in the second training session of the day, with qualifying scheduled for the evening.
Following closely behind, Alex Palou secured the second-best time at 1:14.560, while Dennis Hauger claimed the third spot with a time of 1:14.592 on the Markham downtown road course.
The event faced a setback when organizers were forced to cancel the initial track sessions due to incomplete course construction and pending safety inspections.
Markham is hosting the race for the first time this year, marking a shift from its long-standing location at Toronto’s Exhibition Place, where it had been held since its inception in 1986.
Earlier in the day, Palou had topped the time charts during the morning’s first practice session, completing the circuit in 1:14.9915.
