“Justin Rose Eyes Career Grand Slam After Record-Breaking Win”

Justin Rose expressed his ambition of achieving a career Grand Slam after surpassing Tiger Woods’ scoring record to secure victory at the Farmers Insurance Open. The 45-year-old, who is ranked No.3 in the world, also indicated his reluctance to take on the role of the next European captain should Luke Donald opt out in 2027.

Rose, who started with a remarkable 62, led wire-to-wire at Torrey Pines, finishing at 23-under 265, outperforming Tiger Woods in 1999 and George Burns in 1987. Reflecting on his win, Rose playfully acknowledged Woods, stating he was focused on breaking the scoring record in the final holes.

The former world No.1, who climbed back to No.3 after a strong performance, credited his improved play and mental resilience in California. With 13 tour titles under his belt, including victories at prestigious courses like Muirfield Village and Torrey Pines, Rose remains focused on pursuing more major wins to add to his accolades.

While Brooks Koepka finished tied 56th on his return to the PGA Tour, Rose emphasized his commitment to achieving his career goals by competing on both the European Tour and the PGA Tour. Despite turning down an early offer from the LIV Golf league, Rose expressed his passion for challenging himself against the best players globally to fuel his motivation and hunger for success.
