Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made the decision to step back from their royal duties in 2020 and relocated to the United States. Despite initially not planning to return to the UK soon, Prince Harry has made several trips back to his home country since then.
Prince Harry is expected to travel from California to London in the near future to provide evidence in a legal case against Associated Newspapers Limited. However, there are no arrangements for him to meet with his father, King Charles.
The last time Prince Harry saw his father was in September 2025 during a brief visit to the UK for the WellChild awards. During that trip, Harry and Charles had a private tea at Clarence House.
Since leaving royal life, Prince Harry has occasionally returned to the UK, often traveling alone while Meghan and their children, Archie and Lilibet, remained in California. The family did visit the UK together for Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations in 2022.
Following the Queen’s passing, Prince Harry and Meghan returned to the UK for her funeral and other related events. Prince Harry’s first trip back after stepping back from royal duties was in April 2021 for Prince Philip’s funeral.
Prince Harry has continued to make trips back to the UK for significant family events and charitable activities. He is scheduled to visit the UK again in July to promote the 2027 Invictus Games in Birmingham.
