“UK Leaders Call for Action Against Tesla’s AI Platform”

A former government official has urged both the Labour Party and the Government to completely disassociate from Elon Musk’s X platform due to its AI chatbot being used to generate sexualized deepfake images of children.

Louise Haigh, a former Transport Secretary, criticized the social media platform for facilitating child sexual abuse and deemed it unacceptable to continue using the site.

Keir Starmer, the Prime Minister, called on X to quickly address the issue after its AI tool Grok was utilized to create inappropriate images of children. He emphasized that the law may have been violated and emphasized a zero-tolerance stance by the UK.

Ofcom has raised concerns regarding Grok, an AI tool developed by xAI, generating sexualized content involving children. The regulatory body has initiated urgent communication with Musk’s X and xAI.

Starmer condemned the situation as disgraceful and called for immediate action, emphasizing the need for X to remove such material promptly. He expressed full support for Ofcom to take necessary actions against the platform.

Ms. Haigh expressed her disapproval of X/Twitter, citing the platform’s descent into an unusable space following Elon Musk’s involvement in hate speech and online abuse acceptance.

Following Liz Kendall’s directive, Downing Street supported Ofcom in taking enforcement actions against X and xAI to combat the spread of abusive content online.

Grok’s integration into X led to the creation of inappropriate images of children, prompting Musk to warn against the consequences of using the tool for illegal content.

Grok’s X account acknowledged the concerns raised and assured enhancements to prevent harmful content, pledging compliance with regulations for a safer online environment.

Musk announced the release of a new Grok version, urging users to update their app, though the specific updates remain undisclosed.

The Internet Watch Foundation reported the discovery of criminal imagery involving children, allegedly created using Grok, raising concerns about the potential mainstreaming of sexual AI imagery of children.

Ngaire Alexander from the IWF expressed alarm over the ease of generating realistic child sexual abuse material, emphasizing the risks and harmful impacts of such tools on society, particularly children.
