“Tiger Woods Takes Break from Golf Post Back Surgery”

Tiger Woods recently announced that he will be taking a break from golf following a back surgery he had in October. This surgery marked the seventh one he has undergone on his back and the third major operation within the last two years, with previous surgeries on his Achilles and ankle.

Despite his past successes, including winning the Masters in 2019 after an 11-year gap, Woods has been struggling with injuries that have hindered his competitive performance in recent years.

While he managed to host his annual Hero World Challenge golf tournament in the Bahamas, Woods acknowledged that he has a long road to recovery ahead before he can return to playing regularly. He humorously mentioned playing in numerous events but later emphasized the importance of focusing on his recovery process before making any commitments to his playing schedule.

Having recently received clearance to resume chipping and putting after six weeks post-surgery, Woods is gradually increasing his training intensity and focusing on strengthening his body to prepare for a potential return to the sport.

One of Woods’ driving motivations could be achieving a PGA record by surpassing the 82 tournament wins currently shared with golf legend Sam Snead. Notah Begay III, a close friend of Woods, highlighted the physical challenges Woods faces in simply navigating the golf course post-surgeries as a significant hurdle in his comeback journey.
