Teen Arrested in Leicester Kebab Shop Stabbing

A 16-year-old boy has been taken into custody following a stabbing incident involving a teenager at a kebab shop in a UK city. The incident occurred at a takeaway establishment in Leicester city center on January 15 during lunchtime, prompting a police investigation and the sealing off of the area. The victim was hospitalized, and the authorities have reported that the arrested teenager is suspected of attempted murder.

According to Leicestershire Police, the altercation took place at German Doner Kebab at the junction of Granby Street and Bishop Street around 1 pm on Thursday. The 19-year-old victim sustained stab wounds and was promptly transported to the hospital, where he is currently in stable condition. The detained boy is in police custody, and individuals with any relevant information or footage are encouraged to contact the authorities.

The police spokesperson confirmed the arrest of the 16-year-old suspect in connection with the stabbing on Granby Street in Leicester. The victim, a 19-year-old, was admitted to the hospital for treatment and is reported to be stable. The police are appealing for assistance from anyone who can provide information, mobile phone data, CCTV footage, or dashcam recordings. Simon Wallis, the chief executive of German Doner Kebab (GDK), expressed sympathy for those affected by the incident and announced the reopening of the restaurant. He emphasized that the safety of both staff and customers remains their top priority and that they will continue to cooperate with the authorities in their investigation.
