A courageous woman has shared her harrowing ordeal of being abducted by a ruthless gang who planned to exploit her virginity and organs, and how she managed to escape the horrors.
Lurata Lyon recounted how her virginity was traded to an overseas bidder and how she endured being held at gunpoint while witnessing other girls being assaulted to learn how to please men.
Now 45, Lurata’s harrowing journey began when she fled her hometown in Serbia at 17 to escape violence during the Yugoslav conflict. Following a traumatic incident in Kosovo, she was kidnapped by a human trafficking gang after being betrayed by a local translator.
During captivity, she faced constant threats and was coerced into a terrifying situation where her life was at risk. Despite the grave danger she faced, Lurata found a moment of courage and managed to escape from her captors.
After a series of harrowing events and encounters with more criminals, including a brief period of captivity, Lurata was eventually rescued by her father and smuggled out of the country to seek safety in the UK.
Following her journey to safety, Lurata became a British citizen and authored a memoir detailing her experience surviving human trafficking. She expressed gratitude to the British people for their support and highlighted the importance of kindness and resilience in the face of trauma.
Today, Lurata serves as a motivational speaker and coach in the UK, using her story to inspire others and advocate for survivors of human trafficking.
