“Spandau Ballet Ex-Singer Faces Rape Allegations”

A former lead singer of the band Spandau Ballet, Ross Davidson, is facing allegations of sexual assault and rape. The court heard that Davidson, who performed under the stage name Ross Wild, had a belief that he could easily obtain sexual favors.

Davidson, known for his role in the West End musical “We Will Rock You” and as a member of Spandau Ballet in 2018, is accused of raping a woman and recording himself inappropriately touching another woman. The court proceedings at Wood Green Crown Court revealed that Davidson, originally from Aberdeen and residing in Finchley, North London, pleaded not guilty to the rape charge dating back to March 2015.

Moreover, Davidson denied accusations of attempted rape and sexual assault involving another woman in December 2019. He did admit guilt to a voyeurism charge against the same woman in December 2019. The prosecution highlighted Davidson’s charismatic and attractive persona but emphasized that two women have come forward alleging a darker side to him.

The court was informed that Davidson believed he could have sex whenever he wanted, leading to behaviors such as rape and sexual assault. The alleged victim in London described feeling scared and helpless during the purported attack, citing Davidson’s physical dominance.

In response, Davidson’s defense counsel, Charlotte Newell KC, stated that there was no sexual attraction between Davidson and the woman in London, asserting that there was no intimacy due to a lack of connection.

The trial is ongoing.
