The company operating Revolution bars has announced a deadline for bids next week as it seeks a buyer. The Revel Collective, which manages 62 venues under various brands, including Revolution and Revolucion de Cuba, made the decision to sell in October 2025 due to declining sales. Potential bidders are required to submit offers by January 9, with FTI Consulting overseeing the formal sale process.
According to a report by Sky News, Neos Hospitality has shown interest in acquiring some of The Revel Collective’s sites, although it is uncertain if they will submit a bid. The Mirror reached out to The Revel Collective, previously known as Revolution Bars, for a statement.
The company had initiated a sales process in April 2024 but abandoned it after rejecting an offer from Nightcap. As part of a restructuring plan approved by the High Court, around 36 sites were closed in 2024. However, in an update in October 2025, company executives cited challenging economic conditions and government interventions as hindrances to their progress since the restructuring.
Revenue for the company decreased by 7.4% to £26.3 million in the three months ending September, mainly driven by a 10.5% decline in like-for-like sales in its bars division. The company attributed the sales drop to cost-of-living pressures on its younger clientele, with debts increasing to £25.3 million from £22.1 million by the end of June.
Luke Johnson, former Pizza Express executive, assumed the role of chairman at The Revel Collective in September following Keith Edelman’s retirement. Johnson expressed interest in acquiring companies with unique qualities to potentially become market leaders.
