Comparing last year, breakdown requests on the first working Monday were 27% higher than on Monday, February 3, according to the AA.

Shaun Jones, an expert at the AA, stated: “Returning to work after the holiday celebrations can be stressful. The chaotic morning rush and anticipated traffic congestion can be overwhelming.

“Frustration peaks when your car won’t start or you discover a flat tire. These issues can be easily prevented with some foresight and preparation.
