Norris only needed a third-place finish at the Yas Marina Circuit to clinch the title, maintaining his 12-point lead over Verstappen. Despite initially losing second place to his teammate Piastri, Norris held his ground and secured the necessary position.
Charles Leclerc posed a late threat to Norris but eventually fell back in his Ferrari, leaving Norris with a clear path to victory and the championship. Overwhelmed with emotion, Norris expressed his gratitude over the radio to his team, family, and loved ones, shedding tears of joy.
Upon exiting his car, Norris embraced his parents and shared an emotional moment with his girlfriend Corceiro.
