Sir Bruce Forsyth’s magnificent mansion has been unveiled, almost a decade after his passing. Known for his iconic television career spanning over 75 years, hosting beloved shows like The Generation Game, Play Your Cards Right, and Strictly Come Dancing, Sir Bruce brought joy and laughter to audiences nationwide. Stepping down from presenting duties in April 2014 after a successful tenure on the BBC’s ballroom show, the star sadly succumbed to bronchial pneumonia in 2017 at the age of 89 in his multi-million-pound Wentworth Estate residence.
Since his departure, the opulent estate, eventually sold by his widow Wilnelia for £5.7 million in April 2020, has remained unoccupied and fallen into disrepair. As the Strictly Come Dancing Live Tour prepares to kick off in Birmingham this weekend, we take a peek inside the deserted mansion of the legendary presenter.
Sir Bruce’s former home, nestled in the Wentworth Estate, has been shielded by imposing metal gates for the past six years. Concerns arose among neighbors as moss and weeds encroached upon the property. Following Wilnelia’s decision to downsize, the home was sold to a businesswoman.
Within the estate’s grounds lies a quaint cottage tucked away in the garden. The once vibrant tennis court and gardens have been left unattended since Wilnelia vacated the premises. Situated in an exclusive estate frequented by notable personalities like Dame Judi Dench and Angelina Jolie, the lavish mansion boasts ten reception rooms, a cinema, library, wine cellar, gym, and a pool, complete with a spa area that overlooks the sprawling gardens.
