Marcus Rashford could make one player’s dream come true by swapping Manchester United for AC Milan.
Rashford’s representatives recently flew out to Italy to secure a January transfer window move for the forward, who has been linked with a switch to Serie A giants AC Milan and Napoli.
Milan are close to offloading Switzerland international Noah Okafor to RB Leipzig, which would free up funds to bring Rashford to the San Siro. If Rashford was to choose the Rossoneri as his next club, few will be happier than Milan’s ex-Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham.
The England international, who moved to the San Siro from Roma in the summer, said it was his “dream” to play alongside the United academy graduate.

Speaking to Copa 90 in 2020, Abraham said: “Seeing someone on TV it’s different to watching someone live, playing against them and playing with them.
“Seeing the things he does. The way he strikes the ball, his skills, his good feet, the way he beats players, it’s just a dream to watch. I would love to [partner him for England].”
The pair have played alongside each other twice for their country and now a reunion at club level could be on the cards. Rashford has not appeared for United since their Europa League win over Viktoria Plzen in early December and Amorim excluded him from three successive Premier League squads.
Despite making the bench against Newcastle United at home, Amorim chose not to play him. Should Rashford make a switch to the San Siro, he wouldn’t be short of familiar faces.
Fikayo Tomori and Ruben Loftus-Cheek, another two of Rashford’s old England teammates, have rejuvenated their careers with the Italian titans after falling out of favour at Chelsea. Rashford has dismissed the notion of cashing in on a move to Saudi Arabia, deeming such a step premature for his career.
Meanwhile, West Ham United loom as a potential Premier League destination, though his substantial salary poses a financial hurdle.
Either way, an Old Trafford exit looks likely, after he told football writer Henry Winter he wants a fresh challenge. Rashford said: “For me, personally, I think I’m ready for a new challenge and the next steps.
“When I leave it’s going to be ‘no hard feelings’. You’re not going to have any negative comments from me about Manchester United. That’s me as a person.
“If I know that a situation is already bad I’m not going to make it worse. I’ve seen how other players have left in the past and I don’t want to be that person. When I leave I’ll make a statement and it will be from me.”
