Five teenagers have been taken into custody on suspicion of homicide following the discovery of a deceased man in Stockton’s Hardwick area. Cleveland Police responded to an incident on Egglescliffe Close around 6:50 pm on Saturday, where the lifeless body of a 49-year-old man was found.
According to reports from TeessideLive, a 19-year-old male, two 18-year-old males, and two 17-year-old boys were apprehended overnight in connection with the murder investigation and are currently being held by the authorities. Witnesses observed a significant police presence on Sunday morning, with several police vehicles stationed near a cordoned-off area encompassing a car wash and bushes. Law enforcement had been present at the scene since approximately 8:00 pm.
In an official statement, Cleveland Police confirmed the arrests, stating, “Five individuals were detained overnight on suspicion of murder following an incident in Stockton the previous evening. The authorities were alerted to an address on Egglescliffe Close in Stockton where the deceased man was discovered.”
