The affected products, made in China, were found to contain asbestos levels below the 5% threshold for labeling as asbestos-free. Upon testing, three out of five sand colors tested positive for fibrous tremolite asbestos. The parent, alarmed by the findings, expressed worries about potential exposure among children.
Hobbycraft responded by withdrawing the product from shelves pending independent testing. Despite not issuing a formal recall, the company assured customers of updates once testing is complete. Government officials are investigating the matter and urging proactive measures from Hobbycraft to address the issue promptly.
