According to a travel expert, Ibiza is poised to surpass Benidorm as the preferred destination for British hen and stag parties. Frank, known as “The Stag Man,” commended Ibiza for its vibrant nightlife and affordability compared to Benidorm in mainland Spain, the long-standing favorite for such celebrations. Frank, who specializes in organizing party trips, emphasized the rising popularity of Ibiza among his clientele.
The industry professional from Tottenham, north London, expressed his confidence in Ibiza’s resurgence, stating that it is reclaiming its status as a top holiday spot for stag and hen parties. He hinted at a shift in preferences, aiming to make Ibiza the leading choice over Benidorm. Frank declared his intention to prevent both destinations from fading into obscurity and asserted that he would make a significant move within a year to solidify Ibiza’s position.
Benidorm, a coastal town on the Costa Blanca, has long been a popular destination for British tourists, attracting over 832,000 visitors in 2023 alone. However, concerns about rising crime incidents like thefts and muggings have deterred some tourists from revisiting Benidorm, leading them to explore alternative destinations such as Ibiza, which drew over three million tourists in 2022 due to its thriving nightlife scene.
Frank predicts that Ibiza’s appeal will continue to grow following a temporary decline before the Covid-19 pandemic. He highlighted the competitive pricing in Ibiza compared to Benidorm and criticized the latter for prioritizing profits over customer satisfaction. The travel expert pointed out the increase in crime incidents in Benidorm, suggesting that addressing this issue could significantly improve the town’s tourism prospects.
Despite his plans to capitalize on Ibiza’s popularity, Frank intends to maintain his businesses in Benidorm, including bars, travel agencies, and restaurants catering primarily to British holidaymakers. Ibiza, the third-largest Balearic Island in terms of area but second-largest in population, has traditionally been associated with electronic dance music clubs, but recent efforts have been made to promote family-friendly vacations.
