A man has tragically passed away following an incident where a tree fell on a caravan during Storm Goretti in Cornwall. The unfortunate event took place in the Mawgan area of Helston on Thursday evening, according to the Devon and Cornwall Police. The storm brought strong winds of up to 99mph to the region.
The deceased man, aged in his 50s, was found in the caravan, and his relatives have been notified. Authorities have confirmed that the death is not considered suspicious. The Met Office issued a rare red wind warning for parts of the South West on Thursday, alongside amber and yellow alerts for snow, ice, wind, and rain across the UK.

Met Office’s Chief Forecaster, Steve Willington, mentioned the likelihood of additional snow accumulating in Scotland and northern England on Sunday, with a continued risk of icy conditions.
The forecast suggests 2-5cm of snow at lower altitudes and 10-20cm on higher terrain within the warning zones on Sunday. Areas already impacted by heavy snowfall are expected to face further disruptions. Southern England and Wales are likely to experience rain instead of snow on Sunday, contributing to a wet day for many.
