A gunman wearing a mask entered a pub in West Dublin last night, but patrons bravely intervened to prevent any shooting incident. The incident occurred at The 79 Inn in Ballyfermot, prompting a swift response from the Gardai after receiving reports of an armed man entering the establishment.
Eyewitnesses stated that individuals inside the pub managed to thwart the gunman’s attempt to shoot by throwing a bar stool at him, allowing the intended target to escape unharmed. The gunman, reportedly wearing a balaclava, fled the scene as law enforcement officers quickly arrived at the location.
According to Dublin Live, the altercation may have stemmed from an earlier verbal dispute. The Gardai confirmed that they are conducting an investigation into the incident at a licensed establishment in Ballyfermot, Dublin 10, on Saturday, January 10, 2026.
