The Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) has decided not to penalize Fallon Sherrock for her behavior during her recent match against Dave Chisnall at the World Championship. Sherrock playfully imitated an incident involving a drinks table that her former partner Cameron Menzies had previously caused a stir by punching.
Menzies, who was left injured after his outburst at the table following his defeat to Charlie Manby, had a prior relationship with Sherrock, which ended amicably earlier this year. The PDC’s chief executive, Matt Porter, emphasized the availability of support for Menzies in dealing with his emotions post-match, prioritizing the well-being of players.
Both Sherrock and Menzies were eliminated in the first round of the championship. Sherrock struggled with her doubles accuracy against Chisnall, leading to a 3-0 loss, while Menzies, the 26th seed, lost a close match to Manby after leading at certain points.
Chisnall acknowledged that Sherrock’s performance was better than the final score indicated, attributing the outcome to missed double opportunities. He advanced to face Ricardo Pietreczko in the next round, with other matches featuring top-seeded players like Josh Rock and Nathan Aspinall taking place.
Young talent Beau Greaves is set to kick off her World Championship campaign against Daryl Gurney, with the victor moving on to challenge Callan Rydz in the second round. The championship promises exciting matchups and a festive atmosphere, building on the previous year’s success and showcasing top talents in the sport.
