“Samsung Drops Support for Galaxy S21 Models”

Samsung has ceased support for three older Galaxy smartphone models, meaning they will no longer receive essential software updates. The Galaxy S21, S21 Plus, and S21 Ultra have been removed from Samsung’s list of supported devices for monthly or quarterly security patches. Despite previous promises of four years of Android updates and five years of security updates, these models will not be receiving any new system updates. Owners of these phones, released in 2021, are advised to consider upgrading for security reasons. In contrast, newer models like the Galaxy S25 now offer seven years of Android and security updates, providing extended device longevity.

Notably, the Galaxy S21 FE continues to receive quarterly security updates for at least another year. For those contemplating an upgrade, Samsung is anticipated to unveil the Galaxy S26 series later this month, potentially on February 25. The upcoming release is rumored to include enhancements like a faster processor, improved camera capabilities, enhanced design, and better battery life.
