Jamie Lee Arrow’s adolescent defiance was rooted in a disturbing past. When she was just nine years old, she discovered that her father had killed and consumed his girlfriend.
Isakin Drabbad, Jamie’s father, had separated from her mother when she was very young. Despite the breakup, Jamie maintained contact with him and developed a close relationship with his new partner, Helle Christensen, who played a motherly role in her life.
However, the relationship between Helle and Isakin was marred by toxicity and violence, with Jamie witnessing unsettling arguments between them during her childhood. On one occasion, Helle ominously told Jamie as she served her a meal, “Enjoy your meal…this is the last time I’ll ever cook for you because Isakin is going to kill me.”
Tragically, Helle’s ominous prediction came true. In November 2010, Drabbad, who identified as a Satanist, slit Helle’s throat, beheaded her, and consumed parts of her body.
In a recent emotional interview with LadBible, Jamie recounted how her mother tried to shield her from the horrifying reality about her father, expressing, “My life as I knew it didn’t exist anymore.”
She continued, “I wasn’t allowed to watch TV, listen to the radio, go to shops, or attend school for a month. They kept the curtains drawn because curious neighbors attempted to peer inside.”
As Drabbad’s trial unfolded, his case garnered widespread attention. The Swedish public was shocked by reports detailing how Drabbad, after killing Helle, used the same weapon to remove her clothes.
Armed with a knife, saw, and axe, the murderer dismembered Helle’s body. He also sliced off flesh from her limbs, which he fried with cannabis leaves. It was reported that he even had intentions of consuming Helle’s head.
Despite his conviction and placement in a secure mental facility, Drabbad remained in the spotlight. While at Karsudden Regional Hospital, he engaged in a relationship with another patient, the notorious “Vampire killer” Michelle Gustafsson.
Drabbad also started a blog where he answered public inquiries about his crimes. In one post, he callously wrote, “Most people at some point say they would never take someone else’s life, but once you have, it’s no longer a big deal.”
In a YouTube video, the killer expressed his disdain for humanity, stating, “I consider myself anti-human. There’s nothing about humans that I admire. The only historical figures I appreciate are the Vikings, Spartans, and similar individuals.”
Additionally, Drabbad launched an online shop selling handcrafted voodoo dolls, each signed in his own blood and labeled with “They call me Skara Cannibal.”
When Jamie finally mustered the courage to visit her father in prison as a teenager, Drabbad gifted her one of these voodoo dolls, claiming it had the power to harm her bullies.
She recounted facing severe bullying at school due to her father’s infamous reputation, sharing, “People labeled me as ‘the cannibal’s daughter.’ That was the only identity everyone recognized me by, not as Jamie.”
Overwhelmed by anger and resentment, Jamie spiraled into a destructive path, dropping out of school at 14 and succumbing to drug addiction by age 15.
Influenced significantly by what she described as “brainwashing” during visits with her father in prison, Jamie was eventually cut off from all communication by Drabbad.
In an interview with People magazine, she revealed, “We had deep conversations, and I expressed my love and forgiveness to him. However, he later sent me a twisted, threatening message warning me and my family against contacting him again.”
While the message left her devastated, it paradoxically provided closure. Jamie explained, “It gave me the closure I needed to understand the sickness of it all.”
Today, Jamie’s top priority is shielding her own children from the trauma she endured in her upbringing. She affirms, “I never want them to be exposed to any form of darkness.”
